Can Tho City holds memorial service for fallen soldiers
PANO – The steering committee for search, collection, repatriation, and verification of fallen soldiers’ remains (Steering Committee 515) of Can Tho city held a memorial and reburial service on November 16 for four fallen soldiers who laid down their lives in the resistance war against U.S. invaders.

The event was attended by members of Military Region 9’s Steering Committee 515, Can Tho city’s Steering Committee 515, and representatives of departments and agencies of Can Tho city and O Mon district.
The remains of fallen soldiers were collected by Team K90 of the Political Department of Military Region 9 from September 8 to 20 at Truong Thanh A hamlet of Truong Thanh commune, Thoi Phuoc A hamlet of Tan Thoi commune, and Truong Binh hamlet of Truong Thang commune, Thoi Lai district. Of the collected, two sets of remains are still unidentified.
According to Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee and Head of Steering Committee 515 of Can Tho city Duong Tan Hien, people from all walks of life in the province have actively participated in realizing the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies on the search and collection of martyrs' remains.
Over the years, under the direction of Military Region 9’s Steering Committee 515, the city’s steering committee has searched and collected 26 sets of martyrs' remains, of which ten have been verified. The remains of martyrs found have helped release the pain of relatives who lost their beloved ones in wars.

In the coming time, the city’s Steering Committee 515 will continue to coordinate to search and gather martyrs' remains.
Reportedly, since the beginning of this year, Team K90 has collected and handed over 40 sets of remains of martyrs to Tra Vinh province and Can Tho city.
