Addressing the event, Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung, Chairman of the Vietnam Martyr Families Support Association, emphasized that over the past 13 years, the association has become familiar to the community, especially martyr families. Alongside activities to pay tribute to martyrs, the association has developed its structure with 13 provincial and city-level organizations, 22 central-level affiliated organizations, and over 100 district-level organizations.

The association's affiliates have actively participated in collection and repatriation of martyrs' remains, supporting the verification of martyrs’ identities. They have also collaborated with relevant agencies and localities to assist families to collect over 1,200 sets of martyrs' remains in Southern provinces.

Over the past time, the association and its affiliates have donated over 1,200 gratitude houses (valued from VND 60 to 80 million each), provided nearly 3,000 savings books (worth from VND 5 to 10 million each), distributed 61,323 gifts, and offered free medical check-ups and medicines to more than 26,000 policy beneficiaries.

On this occasion, Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan awarded the third-class Labor Order from the State President to the Vietnam Martyr Families Support Association and Lieutenant General Le Van Han, former Deputy Director of the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People's Army and former Chairman of the Vietnam Martyr Families Support Association.

Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan also presented gifts to the Vietnam Martyr Families Support Association, four heroic Vietnamese mothers, and 20 martyrs’ family members. The association presented certificates of merit in recognition of the contribution of organizations and individuals to supporting and accompanying its work of paying tribute to martyrs over the years.
