PANO - General Phung Quang Thanh, Politburo Member, Deputy-Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Defence Minister, on June 21st, had a working session with the Vietnam Martyr Families Support Association (VMFSA) at the Defence Ministry Office.
The Defence Minister appreciated the Association’s initial achievements especially in supporting martyrs’ relatives to find these remains and giving assistance to needy martyr families .
The Defence Minister also urged relevant sectors under the Defence Ministry to work out plans to coordinate with the association in implementing its tasks; to create favourable conditions for the association to exploit information on martyrs which, so far, were unaccounted for.
General Thanh also appealed to in the whole army to contribute to the fund in order to carry out their valued activities.
On this occasion, the Defence Ministry presented the association with two 7-seat automobiles and VND 100 million granted by the “Fund of Army Businesses For Social Works” and the “Gratitude Fund” under the Defence Ministry.
