Troubled fishing trawler rescued at sea
PANO - Ship 798 of Squadrons 128 under the Saigon Newport Corporation successfully rescued a troubled trawler on December 31, numbered QNg 96739 TS, and towed it ashore.
Earlier, at 1:20am on December 28, with 14 fishermen on board, the trawler went adrift due to engine failure while fishing about 45 nautical miles northeast of Truong Sa island district, Khanh Hoa province.

After receiving the mayday signal, Squadron 128 sent Ship 737 to the scene for a rescue mission.
Despite harsh weather conditions, the rescue ship approached the fishing boat and then towed it ashore on December 28.
On December 31, Ship 798 towed the trawler ashore and handed over the 14 fishermen to the Border Guard Command of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province and the local authorities.
On the occasion, the Saigon Newport Corporation also presented gifts, worth VND 2 million each, to the distressed fishermen.
