Demonstrating a sense of urgency, officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces joined other forces in efforts to contain the fires, prevent them from spreading, and minimize damage caused by the blaze.
According to the Thanh Hoa provincial Military Command, at approximately 2:00 p.m. on June 24, authorities detected a forest fire in Huu Nhan residential area, Hai Binh ward. By 2:45 p.m., the fire had spread over an area of approximately 4 hectares, primarily affecting protective pine forests.

Subsequently, at around 3:30 p.m., additional fires broke out in Dai Thuy residential area, Truc Lam ward, and Sa Thon 4 residential area, Dao Duy Tu ward. The total forest area affected in these two locations was estimated at approximately 5 hectares, mainly consisting of protective pine forests and production forests.
The causes of the fires are currently under investigation by functional agencies.
At present, the Thanh Hoa provincial Military Command continues to direct its subordinate agencies and units to maintain standby forces and closely coordinate with relevant authorities to closely monitor the situational development and remain ready to respond promptly to any emerging situations, thereby helping to protect forest resources as well as the lives and property of local residents.
* At 10:05 a.m. on June 24, upon receiving a report of a forest fire in Phuong An village, Trieu Co commune, Quang Tri province, Naval Squadron 202 under the Coast Guard Region 2 Command promptly deployed 10 officers and soldiers, along with firefighting equipment and vehicles, to the scene. They coordinated with local authorities, functional forces, and local people in combating the fire.

After several hours of intensive firefighting efforts, and with a strong spirit of determination, the fire was completely extinguished at 12:55 p.m. the same day. Functional forces are currently maintaining personnel on standby to promptly respond should the fire reignite.
Previously, on June 20 and June 23, Naval Squadron 202 had twice deployed a total of 36 officers and enlisted personnel to help extinguish consecutive melaleuca forest fires in protective forest areas in Nam Cua Viet, Trieu Co, and Vinh Dinh communes of Quang Tri province.
