Firefighting efforts faced significant challenges due to the wooden structure, flammable contents, distant water sources, and strong winds. Despite these obstacles, the blaze was controlled within 15 minutes. However, the 60 sq.m house and assets worth approximately VND 200 million were destroyed.
According to Colonel Dang Cao Cuong, Viet and his pregnant wife have three children. Financial hardship recently forced the family to move from Dak Xo hamlet to a rented house in Xuan Tinh hamlet for school proximity and employment.
In response, the Dak Sak Commune Military Command arranged temporary housing. Supported by locals, the family later secured another residence nearby. On February 26, commune military personnel donated VND 6.5 million alongside food, clothing, and school supplies.
Phan Thi Kim Hue, Viet’s wife, expressed deep gratitude. She noted that the military’s support helped her recover mentally following the fire. Troops have also assisted by providing meals and transport for the children, allowing the parents to focus on recovery.
Colonel Dang Cao Cuong stated the unit will continue mobilizing businesses and benefactors to provide the funding and manpower needed for the family to rebuild their lives.
