Troops and militiamen help people recover from Dak Sak market fire

On the night of August 31, upon receiving reports of a major fire at Dak Sak market, officers and soldiers from the Dak Sak commune Military Command quickly arrived at the scene to help extinguish the blaze. At the time, flames had risen dozens of meters high and engulfed market stalls. Military personnel, militia members and other forces sprayed water to put out the fire, established a firebreak to prevent the flames from spreading, and helped traders move goods and property to minimize losses.

After hours of battling the fire, the blaze was largely brought under control by the early morning of September 1. According to preliminary statistics from the relevant authorities, the fire destroyed 17 kiosks belonging to nine households, most of which sold clothing, footwear, groceries, and household goods.

Learning about the situation, over the past days, the Dak Sak commune Military Command has continued to mobilize hundreds of troops and militiamen to the site to help people clean up, inventory their property, repair and reinforce market stalls and resume business as soon as possible. Military personnel and militia members have helped repair dozens of damaged stalls, repaint and whitewash smoke-stained and peeling walls, and inspect and reconnect electricity and water systems to ensure safety.

With support from local businesses and donors, the unit plans to provide books and school supplies this week to children of several traders facing difficult conditions, helping their families quickly stabilize their lives and resume business activities.
