Military units assisted residents in the provinces of Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, and Lam Dong with cleaning and repairing 97 houses, 12 government offices and schools, nearly 80km of roads and canals. They disinfected 50 hectares; transported and delivered more than 105 tons of supplies and essential goods; provided medical check-ups, treatment, and medicines; and removed hundreds of cubic meters of waste in the four provinces.

Later that evening, the Office of the National Civil Defense Steering Committee reported that the MND had directed units in areas affected by Storm Koto, the fifteenth storm to hit Vietnam this year, to put more than 150,000 regular troops and militia members, along with thousands of vehicles, on standby to respond to natural disasters and conduct search and rescue operations.

To date, coastal provinces and cities from Quang Tri to Ho Chi Minh City have coordinated to notify, account for, and guide nearly 48,500 vessels with 246,819 crew-members on the storm’s developments and trajectory, enabling them to pro-actively avoid danger, and move out of hazardous areas.

Also on November 30, the Vinh Hai Border Post under the Border Guard Command of Khanh Hoa province reported that, border guard forces had recovered the second victim of the three missing crew-members of fishing vessel NT 90329 TS, which was sinking while returning to shore to avoid Storm Koto. The deceased was crew-member Ngo Hong Hai, born in 1984, residing in neighborhood 3, Dong Hai ward, Khanh Hoa province. His body drifted ashore near Hon Mui area, off the coast of Binh Lap hamlet, Nam Cam Ranh commune, Khanh Hoa province. Local border guard forces are continuing efforts to locate the other missing crew-member.

The same day, a working delegation from the Signal Officer Candidate School under the Signal Corps visited and delivered aid to households severely affected by the recent floods in Tay Khanh Vinh commune, Khanh Hoa province.

The delegation provided 250 relief packages, including essential goods, clothing, blankets, mats, footwear, and daily necessities. Local authorities expressed sincere appreciation for the school’s timely support, recognizing it as an important source of encouragement as the community focuses on overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
