Military Region 5 quickly rebuilds houses for flood-affected residents
PANO - Military Region 5 convened a conference on November 29 to implement a plan on deploying forces to rebuild houses that collapsed during recent storms and floods across the region.
According to the plan, Military Region 5 will send working teams to storm-affected localities. These teams will coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to assess each household’s damage, create detailed lists for repair or reconstruction, and begin building new houses where needed.

The top priority is to ensure that all residents whose houses collapsed or suffered severe damage can stabilize their living conditions before the Lunar New Year of 2026.
Speaking at the meeting, Commander of Military Region 5 Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai requested all units to uphold a strong sense of responsibility, pro-actively prepare personnel and equipment, and execute the mission with the highest determination.
He emphasized that supporting residents in rebuilding their houses is not only an urgent task following natural disasters, but also a demonstration of the dedication and responsibility of the officers and soldiers of Military Region 5’s armed forces toward the people.
The Commander of Military Region 5 asked all agencies and units to thoroughly review the needs of each affected family and pro-actively propose appropriate support measures; organize construction forces methodically and effectively; and ensure that no resident whose house was destroyed has to celebrate the Lunar New Year in hardships.
He also stressed the importance of effective mass mobilization work, communication, thus encouraging local people to overcome difficulties and return to normal life as soon as possible. He directed that immediately after the conference, all agencies and units must promptly begin carrying out their assigned tasks.
