As weather conditions became increasingly complex, the Lang Son Provincial Military Command directed the military commands of communes and wards to mobilize local forces and inspect high-risk areas. Teams were deployed to guard deeply flooded locations and areas at risk of landslides and transportation disruptions, while helping residents evacuate from dangerous areas.

At Gieng Vuong market in Ky Lua ward, rising floodwaters inundated several areas. The Lang Son Provincial Military Command mobilized 50% of its headquarters personnel, along with trucks and several boats, to help residents move their property and goods to safety. Nearly 100 regular troops and militia and self-defense force members took part in the flood response.

By the afternoon of August 22, about 50 households had been evacuated to safe locations.

In flooded and landslide-affected areas, as well as locations where transportation had been disrupted, the provincial armed forces continued working with local authorities and relevant agencies to assist residents. Personnel and equipment remained ready to clear waterways, remove blockages, and respond promptly to emerging emergencies.

Following the “four on-the-spot” principle, units maintained strict duty readiness and were prepared to deploy to high-risk areas. They continued to closely monitor weather developments, assess the situation, and pro-actively implement disaster prevention, response, search, and rescue plans.
