During the program, the command screened a documentary detailing its mission on combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing. The coast guard force disseminated key contents of the law on fisheries, the Viet Nam Coast Guard Law, and regulations on preventing IUU fishing, while highlighting the harmful effects of drugs and rules on protecting the marine environment and resources.

In addition, the working group of the command joined Nam Du Border Post under the An Giang provincial Border Guard Command to directly approach fishing boats operating near the shore of the Nam Du archipelago and those anchoring in the area. The joint force combined legal dissemination with the presentation of national flags, portraits of Uncle Ho, and life jackets to local fishermen.
Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong expressed his hope that the program would help local fishermen overcome difficulties and motivate disadvantaged students to stay in school. He emphasized that moving forward, the unit would continue to work closely with local authorities to step up legal dissemination, especially regulations against IUU fishing.

In the coming time, the troops will further accompany and assist fishermen in enhancing their legal compliance to ensure safe and legal fishing operations. Through these efforts, the unit and local authorities will help build a whole-people national defense posture closely linked with a people’s security posture, firmly safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty, security, and safety over sea and islands.
On this occasion, the command handed over 20 gifts (worth VND 1 million each) to 10 policy beneficiaries and disadvantaged fishermen, alongside 10 needy students. The unit maintained its sponsorship for three disadvantaged but excellent students, providing them with an allowance of VND 9 million per student per year. In addition, the organizing panel presented 20 portraits of Uncle Ho, 200 national flags, and 60 life jackets, and distributed hundreds of legal leaflets to local people.
