“Borderlands - Full Moon Festival 2026” program held in Thanh Hoa

Speaking at the program, Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan, Political Commissar of the Viet Nam Border Guard Command, said that alongside its mission of managing and protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security, the border guard force has consistently worked to strengthen grassroots political systems, promote socio-economic development, help people escape poverty, improve education, and care for young people and children in border areas. These efforts provide a firm foundation for building “the people’s heart posture” along the country’s borders.

Continuing the meaningful efforts of previous programs, this year’s event in Muong Lat conveyed a humanitarian message and affirmed the care of the Party, State, military and society for people and children in border areas. No matter how remote or difficult-to-reach the areas are, border communities and children will continue to receive care, support, protection and encouragement and will not be left behind.

The program also reflected the affection, responsibility and gratitude of border guard officers and soldiers toward ethnic communities in border and island areas, particularly students, the future generation of the country.

The “Borderlands - Full Moon Festival 2026” is an annual program organized by the Border Guard Command in coordination with localities, political and social organizations, and partner units to bring joy to children in border areas.

Alongside the event in Muong Lat, the Viet Nam Border Guard Command directed units across the force to coordinate with local Party committees, authorities and schools in border and island areas to organize Mid-Autumn activities for children. The activities aim to provide them with care and resources, enabling them to enjoy joyful experiences and gain additional motivation to study, grow and strive for a better future.
