Dak Lak border guards hold Mid-Autumn festival for children in border areas

PANO - The Dak Lak provincial Border Guard Command, the provincial Women’s Union, the People’s Committee of Ia Lop commune and sponsors jointly organized the Mid-Autumn festival program for local children on the evening of September 19, at Ia Lop Primary and Lower Secondary Boarding School.

Following cultural performances, martial arts demonstrations, lion dances, lantern processions and a traditional Mid-Autumn Festival feast, the organizing board presented ten livelihood support models, funding to build a cozy border house, ten bicycles, ten scholarships and 890 gift packages to disadvantaged and orphaned students, students with excellent academic outcomes and poor households.

As part of the program, the organizing board also presented Letters of Commendation to students under the “Paving ways for children to go to school” program who had achieved outstanding results in their studies and training. These meaningful and practical activities helped create a joyful atmosphere and a useful playground for the children, encouraging and motivating them to study and train hard and strive to become good children, good students and responsible members of society.

At the festival, Secretary of the Dak Lak provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet granted ten scholarships to disadvantaged students and provided VND 100 million in funding to build a house for a local household in Ia Lop commune.
