A delegation, led by Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City's Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan on July 25 visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers and war wounded and sick soldiers in the city.
Meeting local national contributors, Nhan expressed his deep gratitude to the great contributions of Vietnamese heroic mothers, martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers to the Fatherland. He stressed that the Party, the State and the city have always focused on policy work and gratitude activities in support of policy families and hoped the Vietnamese heroic mothers and wounded and sick soldiers continue to be bright examples for the future generations.
* National Assembly Vice Chairman Do Ba Ty on July 25 had a meeting with 20 Vietnamese heroic mothers, relatives of martyrs and war wounded and sick soldiers. He affirmed that the Party, the State have always paid due attention to implementing policies for wounded soldiers and considered it as one of the key tasks to improve the material and spiritual life for national contributors' families.

On the occasion, the National Assembly Vice Chairman presented many gifts to national contributors.
* The same day, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia also visited and presented gifts to relatives of late professor, composer Ca Le Thuan, former General Secretary of the HCM City Musicians’ Association, and musician Xuan Hong, Hero of the People's Armed Forces and former Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association.
At the meetings with the families of the national contributors, Gen. Nghia recalled the merits of the two late musicians for the national revolutionary cause, the development of the national arts and culture, and the cultural and ideological work of the armed forces.

The late professor, musician Ca Le Thuan is one of the first music lecturers in Vietnam while the late musician Xuan Hong had made remarkable contributions to the Vietnamese armed forces. The GDP Deputy Director expressed his gratitude to national contributors' families and hoped that they all lead a happy life, uphold the fine traditions of the nation, and set shining examples for young generations.
* Party and People's Committees of Thai Binh province held a ceremony to hand over certificates of merit from the Prime Minister to relatives of 19 martyrs. Most of the martyrs died in the resistance war against French colonialists.
* A mission from the General Department of Defense Industry of the Vietnam People's Army visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese heroic mother Kieu Thi Xe in Dai Dong commune, Thach That district, Hanoi. The same day, the delegation also lit incense at the martyrs’ cemetery, presented gifts to 10 policy beneficiaries and national contributors in the commune. On the occasion, the military unit spent VND 1,5 billion in carrying out these gratitude activities for national contributors.
* The Military Region 3 Command sent five delegations to visit and present gifts to six Convalescent Centers for national contributors and war wounded and sick soldiers in the locality; direct lower level military units to advise local Party committees and authorities to well implement policies for policy beneficiaries. The military region command also used part of its gratitude fund to build 16 gratitude houses for needy national contributors.
* The Engineering Corps started to build three gratitude houses and four houses of comradeship, worth VND 80 million each, and presented gifts, worth more than 280 million, to Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Vietnamese heroic mothers, martyrs' relatives, war wounded and sick soldiers and national contributors. Units under the Engineering Corps and local Party Committees, and authorities offered incense and lit candles at 41 martyrs' cemeteries, as well as provided free health check-ups for 490 needy national contributors.
* Army Corps 12 organized many gratitude activities to mark the 72nd Day of Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs. These activities included handing over ten gratitude houses, 12 houses of comradeship, and presented gifts, worth nearly VND 2 billion, to war wounded and sick soldiers of Combat Group 559 who are under treatment in the Convalescent Center for National Contributors, Vietnamese heroic mothers, and martyrs' relatives.
* Military Hospital 105 under the General Department of Logistics, in association with the Hanoi Capital Command and Youth Union organizations provided free health check-ups, medical counseling, and medicines to nearly 2,000 national contributors and policy beneficiaries in the districts of Ba Vi, Chuong My, Phuc Tho, Hoai Duc.
On the occasion, the military hospital's doctors, staff, and soldiers also raised more than VND 43 million for the Gratitude Fund, presented gifts to war wounded and sick soldiers and martyrs' relatives who are under treatment at the hospital, and visited seven Vietnamese heroic mothers.
* Delegations of the Border Guard Technical School 24 under the Vietnam Border Guard Command offered incense, lit candles and repaired the martyrs' cemeteries in the areas where the unit stationed, and provided free health check-ups for nearly 100 policy beneficiaries, as well as presented 15 gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers and national contributors.
* The Military Command of Tay Ninh province held a meeting to gather wounded soldiers and martyrs' relatives, and raised more than VND 200 million for the provincial Gratitude Fund. On the occasion, the unit also presented gifts to seven relatives of war wounded soldiers who are working in the provincial armed forces, and 36 policy beneficiaries.
* The same day, the Border Guard Command of Ninh Binh province visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese heroic mother Dinh Thi Chu in Lac Van commune, Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh province, and gave gifts to 37 other policy families in the province.
