* Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Defense Minister, on July 22 visited and presented gifts to wounded and sick soldiers at the Convalescent Center for wounded and sick soldiers in Duy Tien district, Ha Nam province.
During the event, Gen. Giang affirmed that over the past time the Central Military Commission (CMC) and the Ministry of National Defense (MND) have always focused on implementing homefront policies and gratitude activities for those sacrificing themselves for the nation.

He hoped that the wounded and sick soldiers at the center would promote the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, contributing to building the center into a warm home for war wounded and sick soldiers.
On the occasion, on behalf of the CMC and the MND, Gen. Giang presented 80 gifts to war wounded and sick soldiers under treatment at the center, and a special gift, worth VND 20 million, to the center.
The same day, General Giang and the General Staff's delegation had a meeting with the Military Command of Ha Nam province to review its task performance in the first six months of 2019.
* A military delegation, led by Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, Deputy Defense Minister, on July 22 paid tribute to heroic martyrs at the Truong Son and Road 9 National War Cemeteries and presented 40 gifts to national contributors' families in Quang Tri province.

During the meeting with national contributors, Gen. Chiem stressed that, over the past time, the CMC and MND have always focused on realizing policies and meaningful activities for national contributors, and hoped national contributors' families, wounded and sick soldiers to uphold their hometowns’ and families’ traditions, and the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, set bright examples for younger generations to follow.
* Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, on July 22 visited and worked with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA).
According to VAVA Vice President and General Secretary, Lieutenant General Nguyen The Luc, the unit has two key targets, including mobilizing resources to take care of AO/Dioxin victims and struggling for their justice. Over the past 15 years, the unit has mobilized VND 2,100 billion to support AO/Dioxin victims. Regarding the task of struggling for justice of AO/Dioxin victims, the VAVA has constantly pursued lawsuits to reclaim justice for the needy victims.

Highly appreciating the VAVA's outcomes in recent years, Gen. Phuong affirmed that the Party, the State, the military, and the Vietnamese people at home and overseas have always paid attention to AO/Dioxin victims. He asked the VAVA to reasonably manage the mobilized resources, and suggested continuing proceedings, awakening the conscience of mankind towards the pain of the Vietnamese AO/Dioxin victims.

* A delegation of Command 86, led by Major General Ho Van Duc, its Political Commissar, visited and offered incense to heroic martyrs at Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, the Truong Son and Road 9 National War Cemeteries, and presented gifts to war wounded and sick soldiers, Vietnamese heroic mothers, and national contributors in Quang Tri province.
The delegation laid wreaths and paid tribute to heroic martyrs, and expressed their deep gratitude to great merits of soldiers who sacrificed themselves for the cause of national liberation.
* Agencies, units under the Commando Corps organized a number of meaningful activities to pay tribute to national contributors. Notably, they visited and presented gifts to the Convalescent Centers for National Contributors of Thuan Thanh (Bac Ninh province) and Kim Bang (Ha Nam province). Besides, the units also provided free health check-ups and health counseling for wounded and sick soldiers, national contributors, and Vietnamese heroic mothers.
* Ha Tinh province organized an artistic program themed "Dong Loc - Immortal Flowers" at the Dong Loc Junction monument site in Can Loc district to celebrate the 72nd Wounded Soldiers' and Martyrs' Day (July 27) and commemorate the ten female volunteer youths who lost their lives for the historical Dong Loc Junction victory.
The 70-minute program featured 11 performances, recreating the province's image rich in the revolutionary traditions, and the historical milestones of the country’s resistance war against US invaders.
