The meaningful activity contributed to the implementation of guidelines and policies of the Party and State on sustainable hunger eradication and poverty reduction while responding to the movement of “Military joining hands for the poor, leaving no one behind” and the program “Military women standing side by side with border women” in the 2021-2025 period. It also helped tighten military-civilian ties and beautify the images of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.

According to Senior Colonel Tiep, the “Military women standing side by side with border women” program was launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Union and the Military Women’s Advisory Board in 2018, attracting the participation of women in the whole military. In 2021, the General Staff’s servicewomen donated VND 185 million and other necessities.

This year, the military women organized the program in Nan Xin commune, Xin Man district, Ha Giang province. This is a border commune in the locality with low living standards and a number of poor households accounting for nearly 80 percent.

On this occasion, the unit’s servicewomen presented a house to Vang’s family, worth VND 80 million, and offered 48 gifts to needy women and children, totaling over VND 80 million. The gifts contributed to helping them stabilize their lives and raise their quality of life.

In the framework of the program, the delegation offered incense in tribute to fallen soldiers at Vi Xuyen National War Cemetery, Temple of Heroes and Martyrs of Vi Xuyen front (Thanh Thuy commune, Vi Xuyen district), and visited and granted gifts to officers and soldiers at Nan Xin commune Border Post and the Ha Giang provincial Military Command.
