Solemn respect-paying ceremony held for 12 troops of Military Region 7
PANO - On December 8, a solemn respect-paying ceremony for 12 troops killed in action during a recent explosion incident in a Military Region 7’s defensive exercise was held at the National Funeral Hall in the South.
Former State Presidents Nguyen Minh Triet, Truong Tan Sang, former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and former Permanent member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee Le Hong Anh came to pay respect to the fallen troops. State President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent wreaths.

Many delegations came to the ceremony. The delegation of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and the Ministry of National Defense was led by CMC permanent member and Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong.

The delegation of the Party Committee, People’s Council and Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City was headed by Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen.
Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Students' Association Nguyen Minh Triet led the delegation of the Youth Union.

Also at the event, the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 7 held a ceremony to hand over the Third-class Fatherland Protection Order, the “Fatherland recognizes the merit” certificate and the “Brave Youth” badge to the 12 troops. They were bestowed under decisions signed by State President Luong Cuong, Permanent Deputy PM Nguyen Hoa Binh and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee on December 7, 5, and 6 respectively.
