The competition takes place from June 10 to 13 at the shooting ranges of Division 5 and the Tay Ninh Provincial Military Command. It features 450 athletes of 21 units within the military region's armed forces.

The main categories of the competition include K54 pistol shooting for men and women (lessons 1, 2, and 3), individual advanced shooting competitions, team shooting competitions, AK-47 rifle shooting for men (lessons 1, 2, and 3) for regular troops. For militia men and women and self-defense forces is the AK-47 submachine gun shooting (lessons 1 and 2).

This competition serves as an opportunity for Military Region 7 to assess the shooting training outcomes of units, localities, and schools, and to identify areas for improvement to enhance training quality. Additionally, it aims to improve the weapon handling skills of officers, soldiers, and militia and self-defense forces, contributing to maintaining the armed forces' combat readiness.
