The meeting was chaired by Sr. Lt. Gen. Truong Thien To, Deputy Chairman of the General Department of Political Affairs and Permanent Deputy Head of the Ministry of National Defense’s Emulation and Commendation Council, and attended by members of the council’s standing office.

At the meeting, representatives of the standing office reported on the appraisal of dossiers and achievements of the collectives and individuals under consideration. They said the relevant agencies and units had followed the prescribed procedures, with complete dossiers and sufficient grounds for consideration and recommendation for commendation. Information on the collectives and individuals under consideration had also been publicly posted on the Ministry of National Defense’s portal as required.

After reviewing the documents and hearing the council secretariat’s report, delegates discussed the appraisal and verification of the dossiers and the assessment of the achievements of the collectives and individuals. They also examined the grounds for ensuring that the recommendations were made rigorously, objectively, and in accordance with regulations.

Concluding the meeting, Sr. Lt. Gen. Truong Thien To said that the consideration and recommendation for the conferment and posthumous conferment of the Hero of the People’s Armed Forces title reflects the attention, recognition, and gratitude of the Party, State, and military toward collectives and individuals with exceptionally outstanding achievements. It also contributes to further honoring the proud tradition of the heroic Viet Nam People’s Army.

He instructed the standing office to fully incorporate the opinions raised at the meeting and continue finalizing the report to highlight the achievements of the collectives and individuals. It was also tasked with coordinating with relevant agencies and units to supplement the dossiers of collectives and individuals meeting the required conditions and criteria for submission to competent authorities for consideration in accordance with regulations.
