Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister General Nguyen Tan Cuong attended the event.
In his opening remarks, director of the academy Prof., Dr., Lt. Gen. Phan Tung Son highlighted that from the very first training course for supply officers with only 88 cadets, the Academy has to date trained nearly 62,000 military cadets, more than 5,000 civilian students, over 1,500 master’s degree holders, and nearly 200 doctoral graduates.

With its outstanding achievements in officer training for the revolutionary cause, the Academy has been twice honored with the “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” title, along with the Gold Star Order, the Ho Chi Minh Order, and many other noble orders by the Party and the State.
Addressing the event, on behalf of the Central Military Commission’s Standing Board and the leadership of the Ministry of National Defense, Gen. Cuong lauded the institution for its great efforts and attainments over the past time.

The defense leader instructed the Academy to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement high level resolutions, conclusions, and directives on military and defense tasks, education and training development, scientific and technological research, innovation, and digital transformation.
He urged it to keep innovation in education and training, viewing training quality as the foremost criterion for mission accomplishment and ensure substantive teaching, learning, and assessment as well as resolutely combat all negative practices in teaching and learning. In addition, it should promote digital transformation, build a smart school model, and develop civilian education and new training programs.

Gen. Cuong emphasized the importance of building a contingent of officers, instructors and scientists of good character, high competence, credibility, and dedication; paying attention to nurturing the next generation of cadres; and ensuring the material and spiritual life of its staff and students. He also stressed the need to foster a standardized, exemplary, disciplined, and humane military pedagogical environment, enabling all personnel to remain dedicated, committed, and united in building a comprehensively strong, exemplary and typical academy.
