Accordingly, the seminar was jointly held by the Ministry of National Defense, the Central Commission for Information and Education, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

With the expected theme “The great victory in Spring 1975 and the cause of national building and protection,” the seminar focuses on affirming the sound guidelines, policies, and leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the will and determination to liberate the South and reunify the country; highlighting the brave, indomitable, creative fighting spirit of people and armed forces in the whole country, directly the military and people from the Southern region; and deepening the unique military art in the resistance war against the U.S. imperialists.

The seminar also clarifies the role of the rear from the North and the support from the international community for the Vietnamese people. It also evaluates the scope, historical significance, causes of victory, and lessons learned from the resistance war against the U.S. imperialists in general, and the General Offensive and Uprising in 1975 Spring in particular, among others.

An overview of the event

Through the seminar, the organizing panel would like to pay tribute to fallen soldiers who laid down their lives for national reunification, contributing to educating troops in the whole military and people across the country on promoting the glorious revolutionary traditions and boosting the cause of national renewal, and national protection.

As planned, the seminar will take place in April 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City. Meanwhile, the organizing board also organizes activities, including incense and flower offerings at the Ho Chi Minh City War Cemetery and President Ho Chi Minh Monument and visiting and presenting gifts to policy beneficiaries in the city, to name but a few.

In his remarks, Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Huy Vinh applauded functional agencies for their preparations for the seminar. He also underlined that the agencies and units should closely coordinate with each other to well prepare for the seminar and edit summary record of the event to serve research and study in academies and schools inside and outside the military.
