According to reports at the conference, after field surveys, the Department of Military Training (under the General Staff) has collaborated with relevant agencies and units to build a draft plan for organizing a parade on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Unification Day.

Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong emphasized that the parade on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Unification Day is to reaffirm the significance and great historical value of the Great Victory in the spring of 1975, the desire for peace, national independence, and unification of the Vietnamese people; while demonstrating the growth of the Vietnam People's Army, the Militia and Self-defense Force, and the People's Public Security over the past 50 years under the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam. This is an opportunity to demonstrate the strength of the armed forces, the national solidarity spirit, and affirm the determination of the entire Party, people, and military in successfully implementing the country's renewal process as well as the construction and defense cause of the fatherland.

The Chief of the General Staff requested the Department of Military Training to fully prepare related reports on the plan to submit to the Central Military Commission for approval. He asked the Department to focus on completing the schedules for mission assignment, training, and rehearsal according to the plan.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong noted that agencies and units should proactively select qualified personnel to participate in parade blocs based on the draft plan; and carry out political education and ensure understanding of tasks for all forces.
