MR7 hands over noble order to collectives
PANO – The Military Region 7 (MR7) Command on December 25 held a grand ceremony to honor former Southern Liberation Army’s affiliated units for their outstanding merits in the national resistance war against US invaders.
Accordingly, right after its establishment on October 23, 1961, the Information and Education Office under the Southern Liberation Army’s Department of Politics actively and promptly disseminated higher-levels’ instructions and resolutions to the regional military units while effectively launching emulation movements to raise troops’ political stance and task performance quality.
Between 1963 and 1975, the Southern Liberation Army Newspaper served as a sharp tool in the ideological and political front. It contributed to orienting thoughts of soldiers and residents, transmitting combat strategies and orders of the former South Liberation Armed Forces Command to military units and people, and reflecting victories of troops and people in the region.
Meanwhile, the Military Uniform and Gear Factory, established in 1961, also tried its best to produce and ensure military uniforms and combat gears for liberation soldiers.
At the ceremony, delegates reminisced stages of development and achievements of the three units during the resistance war.
Authorized by the State President, Vice Admiral Tran Hoai Trung, MR7’s Political Commissar, handed over the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” to those units.
