MR5’s leaders visit SAR force in Tra Leng
PANO - A Military Region 5 (MR5) mission led by Deputy Commander Major General Hua Van Tuong on November 9 and 10 visited the force in charge of searching for the 13 remaining missing people from a recent landslide triggered by Typhoon Molave in Tra Leng commune, Nam Tra My district, Quang Nam province.
Reportedly, nearly 100 search and rescue (SAR) troops from MR5’s Engineer Brigade 270, Nam Tra My district Military Command and militia force of Tra Leng commune are trying their best to search for 13 missing people. As of November 9, nine bodies were found.
According to the SAR force, at the place where the ninth body was found, they saw a lot of belongings of the missing people. Because it was not easy to reach the scene of the suspected missing people, they had to transport people and SAR equipment via pulleys. They are racing against time, clearing trees and using pumps to flush soil and sand away to search for the missing.
