Currently, six missing residents have been found dead while 20 others are still missing. Military and relevant forces are still searching for the missing.

Taking a victim out of the scene

At 13:00 the same day, at the final landslide site at Km81, Highway 40B was cleaned so that the rescue force of Military Region 5 with 200 officers and soldiers could approach the scene for a search and rescue mission.

Earlier, medical staff and 20 engineers reached the scene to give first aid to the wounded victims. 

Currently, ambulances continue rushing to the scene to take the injured from the landslide to the hospital. The serious cases are brought to Quang Nam province’s General Hospital.

According to Colonel Ha Ra Dieu, Commander of Nam Tra My district’s Military Command, functional forces have found 33 missing people, including 12 seriously-injured victims. They have found six missing bodies while 14 others remain missing.

The first eight victims were women and children.

The search and rescue work is facing many difficulties due to the landslide, added Colonel Ha Ra Dieu.
