Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam speaks at the event.

Regarding the MND’s orientations on science and technology studies with five major tasks for the 2021-2025 period, Dam urged the MND to keep grasping and mastering weapons and equipment manufacturing technologies which have been transferred and to gradually increase the localization rate of defense products.

The MND should also be active in preparing materials and supplies in service of defense production and technical equipment assurance.

According to a report at the meeting, since 2015, the MND has carried out scientific and technological studies in line with reality, actively ensuring and gradually modernizing weapons and military equipment for military units to complete the military’s training and combat readiness missions.

So far, the MND by implementing a number of scientific and technological programs and projects has turned out various hi-tech weapons and technical equipment, approaching the standards of advanced countries in the region. This in turn has helped improve the scientific and technological research capabilities of MND personnel in several fields.
