At the meeting, Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai, Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, briefed delegates on a plan for the reorganization of border posts, stations, and provincial-level border guard commands, in order to effectively manage and safeguard national sovereignty and border security in the current context.
Accordingly, based on the restructuring project for a “elite, compact and strong military” and the re-organization of local military structures under the new two-level administrative system, the Vietnam Border Guard Command has coordinated with relevant military agencies to study draft documents on the organization of border posts and stations with suitable locations that ensure border protection and management missions and local socio-economic developments.
