On hearing reports on the province’s implementation of socio-economic, defense and security missions, Gen. Cuong congratulated the provincial Party Organization, people, and troops on their task accomplishment last year. He thanked the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and people for creating favorable conditions for the armed forces to accomplish assigned missions.

The GDP’s Chief asked Phu Tho province to continue to carry out the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws on socio-economic development in combination with defense and security consolidation in the new period. In the short-term, the province should make thorough preparations for the upcoming lunar New Year (Tet) to ensure that people, especially policy families, national contributors, and needy workers, have a happy, safe, and cozy New Year.

He asked the provincial armed forces to continue to grasp and strictly carry out resolutions of the Central Military Commission and party committees at all levels on defense and security missions and Party building in 2024 as well as guidelines and policies on socio-economic development in combination with defense and security consolidation. Gen. Cuong also emphasized the need to build the provincial armed forces with high combat power, promote their core role in performing local defense and military tasks.
The official added that the provincial armed forces should well carry out mass mobilization and information dissemination work and actively help people in natural disaster response and search and rescue; firmly maintain political security and social order to facilitate the province’s sustainable development; prepare and organize New Year activities for troops.

On the occasion, Gen. Cuong handed over gifts to policy families, national contributors, needy households, and poor workers and armed force units in the province.
While paying pre-Tet visit to and inspecting the Military Region Command’s observance of combat readiness, the GDP’s Chief acknowledged and praised the military region’s obtained results in 2023.
He asked Military Region 2 to focus on raising the combat power of units in the whole military region, strictly observing combat readiness, and closely following situational developments to flexibly handle circumstances.

Gen. Cuong noted that the military region’s Party Committee and Command should thoroughly grasp and strictly carry out directives and regulations of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, and the GDP on combat readiness observance and Tet organization; carefully prepare and hold activities for troops during the upcoming lunar New Year; pay attention to taking care of troops’ families and holding gratitude activities.
