In September, the Party and political work in the whole military was implemented in a comprehensive and effective manner, with both scheduled and unscheduled programs completed, bringing remarkable outcomes.

Attentively, the whole military pro-actively conducted political education and information dissemination; actively organized activities to celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army; the 35th anniversary of the Whole-people’s Defense Festive Day; and the 80th founding anniversary of the GDP. Documents guiding the organization of all-level Party congresses in the military, towards the 14th National Party Congress, were made and issued together with the building of the draft law on amendments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on the Vietnam People’s Army Officers. Agencies and units effectively implemented activities to ensure security, safety, mass mobilization work, policies, social and health insurance, to name but a few.

The GDP stayed united to implement its functions and tasks, and strictly observed military discipline and regulations. The department promptly directed agencies and units to effectively implement Party and political work in preventing and controlling natural disasters and surmounting their aftermath, while encouraging troops in a timely manner to heighten the spirit of solidarity and the determination to overcome all difficulties to ensure safety of people.

Concluding the conference, Sr. Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet highly appreciated the results obtained by agencies and units in last month. Regarding key tasks in October, the GS chief required the agencies and units to promote pro-activeness and creativity to overcome limitations and shortcomings; effectively carry out the Party and political work in assigned missions, with a focus on combat readiness, training, regularity building, and discipline maintenance; local military and defense work; natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue operations, defense competitions and exercises as planned.

Other missions include the implementation of activities in celebration of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army, the 35th anniversary of the Whole-People’s Defense Festive Day, the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the GDP, and the implementation of the Plan on Strategy for digital transformation in journalism by 2025, with a vision to 2030 in the Ministry of National Defense.

In the coming time, the GDP’s functional agencies should concentrate on documents guiding the organization of all-level Party congresses in the military; developing a draft Resolution of the Central Military Commission on the leadership of the implementation of military and defense tasks and military Party Organization building in 2025.

Meanwhile, agencies and units should effectively carry out mass mobilization work; pro-actively engage in natural disaster and disease prevention and control; help people surmount natural disaster aftermath; maintain social and health insurance for people and policies for troops’ families, defense workers, employees affected by floods, among others.

On the occasion, Gen. Quyet presented certificates of merit from the Defense Minister and GDP Chief to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in task performance.

Attentively, the People’s Army Newspaper received the certificate of merit from the Defense Minister for its outstanding achievement in implementing the “The military prevents and fights 'peaceful evolution' plot in ideological and cultural realm in the new situation” project in the 2019-2024 period.
