At the event, participants reviewed task performance in July. Accordingly, in the month, troops in the whole military well coordinated to serve the state funeral for Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong who was also Secretary of the Central Military Commission, assisted local people in overcoming consequences of floods, and actively participated in search and rescue efforts in Hanoi, Military Regions 2 and 3 with the highest sense of sentiment and responsibility.

Also in July, agencies and units effectively held meetings to review Party and political work implementation in the first six months and roll out tasks for the rest of the year. Documents guiding the organization of all-level Party congresses in the military, towards the 14th National Party Congress, were made and issued together with the building of the draft law on amendments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on the Vietnam People’s Army Officers.
Attentively, agencies and units effectively carried out mass mobilization work, gratitude activities in celebration of the 77th anniversary of the Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day.
Concluding the meeting, Gen. Quyet acknowledged and highly praised agencies and units’ attainments in July.

Regarding key missions for August, the GDP chief asked agencies and units to promote pro-activeness, creativity, show determination to fix shortcomings and weaknesses. He requested them to implement Party and political work in missions, particularly combat readiness, training, regularity building, and discipline management. Besides, they should actively prevent and control natural disasters, conduct search and rescue missions, and partake in festivals, sports competitions, and exercises as planned.
The GDP Director assigned the Department of Political Education and Information to giving instructions to agencies and units in the whole military to closely coordinate with press and media agencies inside and outside the military to enhance dissemination and spread good images of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in peacetime.
Other missions are completion of the project on attracting and fostering talented people for the military to report to the Government, and implementation of activities in celebration of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army, the 35th anniversary of the Whole-People’s Defense Festive Day, and the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the GDP in a quality, effective and practical fashion, among others.
