As part of the pre-deployment training program for the Engineering Company Rotation 5 to participate in U.N. peacekeeping operations, the unit's three subordinate detachments have recently undergone specialized training at the Engineering Technical Intermediate School under the Engineering Corps.

During the training course, officers and personnel from the three detachments received comprehensive instruction in engineering specialties, with a focus on skills directly supporting engineering tasks in U.N. peacekeeping missions. The training curriculum covered engineering vehicle driving; operation of excavators, bulldozers, rollers, and graders; as well as the maintenance, servicing, and repair of engineering vehicles and equipment. These core competencies provide the unit with the essential capabilities to effectively carry out tasks such as constructing camps, opening routes, rehabilitating infrastructure, and delivering humanitarian assistance in mission areas.

From July 6 to 10, the three engineering detachments of the Engineering Company Rotation 5 participated in a comprehensive field exercise designed to review the results of their training. During the exercise, the detachments carried out a range of key engineering tasks, including assembling prefabricated buildings, constructing and repairing mobility routes, and building an expeditionary airfield. These are among the routine missions performed by engineering contingents in United Nations peacekeeping operations.

In his remarks, General Hung emphasized that the obtained outcomes during the training course and field exercise not only reflected the training quality of the Engineering Technical Intermediate School, but also marked an important milestone in the development of the Engineering Company Rotation 5 as it prepares for deployment to a U.N. peacekeeping duty.

He also urged the unit to continue to enhance professional expertise, improve proficiency in operating technical equipment, strengthen coordination capabilities, and adapt to working conditions of U.N. peacekeeping missions. These efforts, he noted, will further reinforce the prestige, status, and positive image of Vietnam's peacekeeping force on the international stage, while continuing to promote the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the era of international integration and development.
