PANO - The Coast Guard Region 2 Command kicked off a training exercise and good maintenance contest for its ships on October 13.
The participating ships and boats will compete in such categories as training and combat readiness tasks, skills and expertise of crewmembers, regulations to operate coast guard ships, etc.

Addressing the event, Senior Colonel Tran Van Dung, Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 2, stressed that the event was part of the region's activities in response to Campaign 50 themed “Good, durable, and safe management of weapons and equipment and traffic safety.”
It aimed to evaluate the units' results on training, management, maintenance, and operation of technical equipment on board, as well as promptly honor and award excellent individuals and groups and multiply outstanding examples across the region.
The event will run until October 14.
