Berlin ceremony commemorates Vietnamese martyrs
Buddhist monks, nuns, followers and Vietnamese expats in Germany gathered at a ceremony at Tu An Pagoda in Berlin on March 12 to commemorate martyrs who died to protect Vietnam’s borders and islands.
The attendees offered incense and prayed for the souls of the fallen soldiers.
Nguyen Tien Khoi, a veteran who was stationed on the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands, expressed gratitude towards Tu An Pagoda and Vietnamese expats in Berlin for organizing the event.
A number of songs extolling the sacrifice of fallen soldiers and the love for the homeland were performed by the Buddhist followers at the event in a patriotic spirit.
