The Indian Admiral also informed General Lich of the outcome of his talks with Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief-of-the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy-Defense Minister, one day earlier. Accordingly, the two sides discussed practical measures to bring the bilateral defense ties to a new height.

Valuing highly the talks’ results, General Lich hoped that the two armies continue expanding their cooperation in the fields that they have advantages, and strengthening exchanges of delegations, particularly young officers, and experience-sharing in force building.

General Lich held that the Vietnamese and Indian armies should bring into full play their strength to further develop the defense ties in an effective manner and to be on a par with the two countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
