After that, the Department of Policies directed functional units at all levels to verify information of relatives of those Vietnamese martyrs and war veterans in different localities across the country.

In his speech at the handover ceremony, General Hoa underlined that over the past time, Vietnam has actively worked with international partners in dealing with war-left aftermath in general and sharing information, documents, and artifacts for the task of searching for and collecting Vietnamese fallen soldiers’ remains in particular.

These keepsakes hold a special meaning and remarkable spiritual value to families of Vietnamese martyrs and war veterans, contributing to helping ease the pain of martyrs’ relatives.

On this occasion, General Hoa hoped that the U.S. should further support Vietnam in overcoming war-left consequences, especially in the search, collection, and repatriation of martyrs' remains, making contributions to promoting the bilateral relations.
