At the seminar

The seminar was among activities in celebration of the 132nd birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19) and the 65th anniversary of Uncle Ho's first visit to Da Chong.

Senior Colonel Dinh Quoc Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Command; Major General Bui Hai Son, Chief of the command and Acting Head of President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board; and Major General Nguyen Hoang Nhien, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Military History co-chaired the event.

At the seminar, more than 45 reports spotlighted the connection between President Ho Chi Minh and Da Chong, the preservation and promotion of the relic's values.

Opinions during the seminar affirmed President Ho Chi Minh’s strategic thinking when choosing Da Chong as the workplace for himself and the Politburo, the important and historical decision of the Party and State on selecting Da Chong as the place to preserve Uncle Ho's body during wartime, as well as political significance, historical and cultural values of Da Chong in the new period.

Opinions also stressed outstanding achievements of troops of the President Ho Chi Minh Protection Command and Soviet Union and Russian experts in carrying out the special political task of long-term preservation and guarantee of absolute safety of President Ho Chi Minh’s body in the 1969-1975 period.

At the seminar, participants also gave suggestions on preserving and promoting Da Chong’s political significance, historical and cultural values and stressed the need to complete a dossier on Da Chong relic to submit to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for recognizing it as a special national relic site.
