Statue of the Saint Giong placed on Da Chong Mountain
PANO - A solemn ceremony to place the bronze statue of the Saint Giong on top the 297m high Da Chong Mount, in Phu Linh Commune, Soc Son, Hanoi took place on May 19th.

The event was organised by the Saint Giong Monument Building Project Management Board, related agencies and Hanoi City.
The statue of the God Giong was molded from pure copper. This 85-tonne statue is 11.7m tall.
The transportation of the five parts of the statue was carried out by huge vehicles.
According to Superior Monk, Thich Thanh Quyet, the head of the Project Management Board, it will take about 20 days to put the statue in place before it will be polished.
The Monument complex is expected to be completed this September.
