Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Deputy Director of the Nghe An provincial Department of Home Affairs Vi Ngoc Quynh highlighted the province’s efforts in implementing policies and providing care for wounded and sick soldiers, martyrs’ families, and other individuals with meritorious service to the revolution, as well as social welfare beneficiaries.

Nghe An is home to more than 590,000 former members of the armed forces, over 45,000 former volunteer youths, more than 167,000 conscripted laborers and militia members, over 45,000 martyrs, more than 56,000 wounded and sick soldiers, and over 22,000 resistance fighters affected by Agent Orange/dioxin, along with relatives of individuals recognized for their service to the revolution.

The province has introduced various support policies for people with meritorious service and their families. Efforts to recover and identify the remains of fallen soldiers continue a priority. Nghe An has been selected by the National Steering Committee 515 and Military Region 4’s Steering Committee 515 to take the lead in collecting DNA samples and transferring martyrs’ remains for forensic identification in 2026.
Addressing the event, Maj. Gen. Doan Quang Hoa expressed profound gratitude for the sacrifices and contributions of heroic martyrs, wounded and sick veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and families with meritorious service to the revolution in Nghe An province.

He affirmed that the Central Military Commission and the MND have consistently regarded gratitude and support activities for those who served the nation as an important political task, reflecting the country’s tradition of honoring those who have contributed to the revolutionary cause.
Under the direction of the GDP, the military has carried out a range of activities, including caring for Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, visiting and supporting wounded and sick soldiers at rehabilitation centers, assisting policy families, building gratitude houses, and preserving memorial sites dedicated to martyrs.
The meeting provided an opportunity for military personnel to express their appreciation for the sacrifices of previous generations while learning from their patriotism, resilience, and dedication.
At the event, General Hoa presented 60 gift packages from the MND to members of the delegation.
