Participants observed a minute of silence and offered incense in tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the happiness of the people.

A representative of the Air Defense - Air Force Service emphasized that searching for, recovering, and identifying fallen soldiers’ remains is not only a vital political mission, but also a national responsibility reflecting the tradition of honoring and remembering those who sacrificed their lives for the country. Each set of remains recovered and each soldier identified brings another family closer to reuniting with a loved one, eases grief, and helps preserve the nation’s history.

Following the ceremony, personnel loaded the sample containers onto vehicles for transport to units under the Military Medical Department of the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services for DNA testing and verification.

Earlier, a transport aircraft operated by Brigade 918 of the Air Defense - Air Force Service had flown the samples from Can Tho International Airport to Gia Lam Airport as scheduled, ensuring absolute safety.

Below are photos of the solemn ceremony held at Gia Lam Airport.
