Historical place in Phu Yen province named national relic site
PANO – A location that witnessed the local people’s uprising in response to the 1968 Tet Offensive in Ward 8, Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province was recognized as the national relic site and a ceremony was held on March 4 to receive the certificate of recognition.
The event was also organized to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Mau Than General Offensive and Uprising in Spring 1968 (Tet Offensive) and to unveil a monument dedicated to Vietnamese heroic martyrs who sacrificed themselves in this place.

During the ceremony, local delegates and people reminisced about the 1968 Tet Offensive. As part of the campaign, Phu Yen people and armed forces launched an uprising, coded T25, against the enemy stationed in the province. The uprising was seen a success as local forces heavily wore out the enemy power, contributing to the victory of the Tet Offensive.
Last year, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism decided to recognize this location as a national historical relic site and, following this, the province spent VND 14.4 billions on upgrading the monument.
