Martyr monument, stele inaugurated in Phu Yen
PANO - The Phu Yen provincial Military Command held a ceremony on May 4 to unveil a monument to commemorate the Hoa Tan commune’s counter-raid and a stele recognizing the feats-of-arms of Commando Platoon G14’s, Companies 375’s and 220’s troops, militiamen and local people at Mieu Mountain, Hoa Quang Bac commune, Phu Hoa district.
The monument was built in Hoa Tan commune, Tay Hoa district to honor Commando Battalion 14 and Company 377 and militiamen and locals in Hoa Tan commune for their valiant resistance against the counter-raid from September 16 to 27, 1967 in three hamlets of Hoi Cu, Canh Phuoc, Xuan Thanh.
Meanwhile, the stele is one of the 27 constructions of this kind under the plan of the Phu Yen provincial Party Committee to commemorate and honor the victories of troops and people of the province in outstanding battles in the two national resistance wars against the French colonialists and American imperialists.
