Welcoming the delegation were Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, President of the Vietnam Veterans Association, and other leaders of the Association.
At the meeting, Gen. Nghia expressed deep respect, pride, and gratitude to generations of Vietnamese veterans, affirming that veterans and the Vietnam People’s Army have always shared a close bond in national construction and defense.

He highly appreciated the coordination between the GDP and the Vietnam Veterans Association, especially in improving policies for the military, veterans, and national contributors; strengthening communication during major national events; building grassroots political systems; and carrying out gratitude and social welfare activities.
He also emphasized the need to further promote the role of veterans in strengthening the whole people’s defense posture, consolidating the people’s heart disposition, educating younger generations on revolutionary traditions and promoting their revolutionary ideals, and contributing to major national and military commemorative activities and local movements.
On behalf of the association, Gen. Truong thanked the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the GDP, and Gen. Nghia for their support.

He affirmed that veterans at all levels continue to uphold the tradition of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, actively participate in Party and State building and defense, protect the Party’s ideological foundation, fight corruption, wastefulness and negative practices, and promoting social supervision.
Veterans’ associations have also encouraged members to improve livelihoods, reduce poverty sustainably, educate younger generations, and carry out gratitude, comradeship, and social welfare activities.
On this occasion, Gen. Nghia presented gifts and extended his best wishes to veterans nationwide, expressing his hope that they would continue contributing to the cause of national construction and defense.
