During the meeting, General Quyet briefed General Pham Van Tra on the military’s outstanding achievements in implementing military, defense, and party and political work in 2024. The GDP’s Chief wished General Tra good health and happiness, encouraging him to continue contributing valuable advice to further strengthen the Vietnam People’s Army to be capable of fulfilling its duties entrusted by the Party, State, and people.

General Tra expressed his delight at the achievements obtained by the military in 2024. The same day, General Quyet offered incense and laid flowers in tribute to Party General Secretary Le Kha Phieu. The GDP’s Chief inquired after the late Party Chief’s family members and wished them good health and a cozy and happy New Year. He hoped that Party General Secretary Le Kha Phieu’s relatives would stay healthy and continue to promote the family’s traditions and contribute to the development of the nation and the military.
Also on January 21, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister General Nguyen Tan Cuong visited and extended New Year greetings to former Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich and the party committee and authorities of Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi.

On behalf of the CMC and MND, General Cuong wished General Lich good health. He took the occasion to brief the retired general on the military’s task accomplishments last year. According to him, under the leadership of the CMC and MND, the whole military strictly observed combat readiness regulations and closely followed situational developments to give timely advice to the Party and State to handle situations in a timely and effective manner. The military also demonstrated its role in disaster response, search and rescue, and military streamlining.
General Lich believed that under the leadership and direction of the Party, State, CMC, and MND, the military will successfully complete the two strategic tasks of building and protecting the Fatherland.

While visiting Nam Tu Liem district, General Cuong congratulated the district on the achievements in economy, politics, socio-culture, and national defense in 2024. He encouraged the local government and residents to continue promoting unity and building the district to be even more prosperous and developed.
Later the same day, General Cuong visited the Military Command and Public Security of Nam Tu Liem district, the Party Committee and People's Committee of My Dinh 2 ward.
