The program was held to mark the 95th anniversary of the foundation day of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – 2026), the 67th anniversary of the foundation day of the Border Guard force (March 3, 1959 – 2026), and the 37th anniversary of Whole-People Border Festive Day (March 3, 1989 – 2026).
One highlight of the program was the inauguration of the 3-kilometer “Lighting up the border road” project, which installed 70 solar-powered lights in Ha Trai hamlet, Son Kim 1 commune, at a total cost of VND 100 million. The project helps ensure security and public order while improving living and production conditions for residents in the border area.
A flag-raising ceremony titled “I love my Fatherland,” conducted in accordance with the Vietnam Youth Federation’s protocol, took place at Border Marker 476 along the Vietnam - Laos border. The ceremony carried profound educational significance in raising awareness of national sovereignty and fostering patriotism.
On this occasion, the organizing pannel presented 100 gift packages to policy beneficiary families, youth union members, young people, and students in Son Kim 1 commune, as well as five gift packages to five Lao students sponsored by the Border Post of Cau Treo International Border Gate. Each package included VND 1 million in cash and a social welfare gift bag worth VND 300,000. In addition, 500 national flags and 100 portraits of President Ho Chi Minh were distributed to local residents. The program also donated 80 maps of Vietnam for display in 80 classrooms and 10 water purifiers to five school sites in the commune.
A livelihood support model was presented to local youth, consisting of 2,000 breeding chickens and one ton of animal feed, helping young people develop their economy, stabilize their livelihoods, and remain committed to the border area.
An art exchange program held at the border post featured performances and exchanges among border guard officers and soldiers, artists, and local youth. The border campfire created a vibrant atmosphere, strengthening solidarity and the close bond between the military and the people.
