Forces in Mong Cai 2 ward assist local people in recovering from the aftermath of the storm.

Particularly, the Quang Ninh provincial Military Command has maintained 100% personnel on combat readiness duty and disaster prevention, search and rescue duty. The command has also worked closely with the public security force, the border force, and local authorities to closely monitor weather developments and remain prepared to respond promptly to any emerging situations.

Local authorities have safely evacuated 72 households, comprising 215 local people, to safer places. At the same time, functional forces have enhanced information dissemination campaigns and enforced strict controls to prevent people from going out to sea or entering aquaculture areas while the storm is continuing to affect the province.

According to preliminary reports, storm No.1 has caused no human casualties. However, property damage has been recorded across several areas, with 65 houses suffering roof damage, approximately 1,470 trees uprooted or broken, and 16 power poles toppled. Around 1,100 hectares of aquaculture farms have been affected, while four vessels drifted and two others running aground. In addition, three vehicles have been damaged, and widespread power outages have been reported in several areas of Mong Cai 1, Mong Cai 2, and Mong Cai 3 wards.

In the coming days, the Quang Ninh provincial Military Command will continue to work closely with relevant forces and local authorities to monitor weather developments, shifting the focus from responding to strong winds to preventing and mitigating the impacts of heavy rain, flooding, and landslides. The command will also pro-actively deploy personnel and equipment to assist local people in recovering from the disaster, restore production activities and stabilize their normal life as quickly as possible.
