In the first half of 2026, the Women’s Union of the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard Command launched the movement “Ho Chi Minh City’s female border guards with bravery and intellect, promoting digital transformation, excellently completing tasks, building happy families, and being worthy of the title “Uncle Ho’s soldiers.” This initiative is tied to the “Determined to Win” emulation movement and the special emulation drive to welcome the 14th National Women’s Congress.

These movements are concretized through daily tasks. Accordingly, each soldier strives to improve their professional skills, forge their political stance, and pro-actively adapt to digital transformation requirements and border security protection missions in the new situation.

The Women’s Union of the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard Command presents gifts to encourage children orphaned by the COVID-19 pandemic in Can Gio.

Alongside professional duties, the union effectively implements the campaign “Building families of five Nos, three Cleans, and three Safes” and the “Four goods” criteria, helping 100% of members’ families achieve the “Cultural family” title. Models such as the “Fund for poor women,” “Women’s savings groups,” and “Women help each other develop household economy” are maintained, generating tens of millions of VND to support disadvantaged members.

Through the programs “Paving the way to school for children” and “Adopted children of border posts,” the Women’s Union of the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard Command has coordinated with youth organizations to present gifts and 93 scholarships worth VND 127 million to students in difficult circumstances. The unit has also partnered with the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund to award 60 scholarships titled “For beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa Islands,” totaling VND 60 million, to the children of border guard troops.

Notably, through the “Godmother” program, female soldiers are supporting and caring for two children orphaned by the COVID-19 pandemic, helping them overcome hardships and giving them a reliable foundation to thrive in life.

Non-commissioned Colonel Chau Thi Thanh Truc, Chairwoman of the city Border Guard Women’s Union, stated that in addition to successfully fulfilling their professional duties, members consistently demonstrate a desire and sense of responsibility to share with disadvantaged comrades. Consequently, the unit actively supports the community through practical acts, spreading positive values to people.
