Roughly VND 3.6 billion presented to Truong Sa
PANO - Mission No.5 to the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands announced its plan to visit islander soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district of Khanh Hoa province and DK1 platforms on the Southern continental shelf on the morning of April 14 in Cam Ranh, Khanh Hoa.
At the conference, on behalf of the local officials, authorities and people, Ha Duc Hoan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee, head of the Provincial Organization Commission, handed over VND 3.5 billion to the naval troops. Vice Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (SCOV) Luong Thanh Nghi presented five scholarships of the project “Truong Sa and DK1 platforms - journey of the heart” to five children of officers of Brigade 146 under Navy Region 4.

The project will also give 30 scholarships worth VND 90 million to children in Truong Sa island district. Senior Captain Dao Ngoc Quy, Political Commissar of the Naval Logistics Department, thanked the ministries, departments, localities and overseas compatriots for visiting, encouraging, and presenting gifts to the troops on the islands and DK1 platforms.
Quy hoped that the tour would help delegates learn more about national sovereignty over the country’s seas and islands, particularly the Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands, as well as to recommend the Party, the State, relevant ministries, departments and sectors to invest in projects more effectively and with practical outcomes, and improve both cultural and material lives of the troops in Truong Sa island district and on DK1 platforms.
