Over 84,000 people join contest on Vietnamese sea and islands
PANO – A contest about Vietnam’s sea and islands and 40 years of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982, launched by the Gia Lai provincial Information and Education Board and the Saigon Newport Corporation, has attracted the participation of many people and troops across the country.
At the first round of the contest, there were 84,205 people from 60 provinces and cities participating in the contest. Gia Lai province had the highest number of participants with 60,117 entries; followed by Hanoi with 5,396, and Hung Yen province with 2,865, among others.
As a result, Gia Lai province won 16 prizes, Ho Chi Minh City three, Kon Tum and Khanh Hoa provinces, each won one prize. The first prize went to contestant Nguyen Tien Loc from Kon Tum province.
The second round of the contest started at 9:00 a.m. on September 12 and is scheduled to last until September 23, 2022.
