Recognizing that a thriving reading culture provides a solid foundation for building a knowledge-based society, Bang Luan commune has undertaken the establishment of a community library. The library aims to provide a favorable reading environment, helping improve knowledge and offering healthy recreational activities for cadres, Party members, students, and local residents.
The program aims to promote the voluntary spirit and responsibility of agencies, organizations, individuals, and residents in donating books. It also seeks to mobilize a diverse, practical, and sustainable source of books to meet the community’s needs for reading, learning, research, and healthy recreation. At the ceremony, the organizing panel received more than 2,000 books.

Initially, the community library is located at Dong Tien village Cultural House and is equipped with information technology facilities to serve 30 to 40 readers at a time. In the coming period, Bang Luan commune will continue to consolidate its system of village cultural houses to further develop the reading culture across the locality.
Vice Chairman of the Bang Luan commune People’s Committee Pham Chi Ha said that each donated book would be promptly put into use, helping spread positive values among readers. The commune’s leaders expressed their hope that organizations and individuals would continue to support and accompany the locality in building the community library.
Over the years, the People’s Army Newspaper (PAN) has maintained close ties with communes in the former Doan Hung district, including Bang Luan commune. Recently, the newspaper has coordinated and mobilized the Military Library, the People’s Army Publishing House, as well as its officers, reporters, and staff, to donate 600 books.
The books cover a wide range of topics, including national history, the Vietnam People’s Army, protecting the Party’s ideological foundation, general science, culture, arts, and children’s literature.

Speaking at the program, Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Hai, Head of the PAN Culture-Sports Editorial Division, said that through the activity, the newspaper hoped to bring cultural and scientific knowledge to residents and students in Bang Luan commune.
He emphasized that donating books means placing faith in good things, promoting the positive values of reading culture, and narrowing the gap in access to knowledge among regions. He expressed his hope that each book would help nurture dreams, open new horizons of knowledge, and inspire new aspirations among readers, particularly students in midland and mountainous areas.

The new Bang Luan commune was formed through the merger of four communes, namely Bang Luan, Bang Doan, Phuc Lai, and Minh Luong of the former Doan Hung district. Located in the midland and mountainous area of Phu Tho province, Bang Luan commune covers nearly 60 square kilometers and has a population of more than 17,000.
After more than a year of operation, the commune’s Party organization, authorities, and people have continued to uphold their revolutionary tradition and solidarity, joining hands to build a prosperous homeland and ensure a better life for local people.
