Border gates are where tourists and people take first steps into a country, and border guards working at these border gates are the first people they meet. Therefore, each border troop should be exemplary and responsible for their work to handle any arising issues quickly, accurately, and promptly, so that each citizen and tourist feels comfortable and convenient in Vietnam. This is Captain Nguyen Vo Hoang’s motto during task performance.

Accordingly, over the past time, Hoang has focused on building and effectively implementing the model of “Raising the quality of border gate inspection and management” which has highly been appreciated by the higher levels. When applying the model during border gate inspection and management, in combination with effective usage of equipment, the quality of border management and control work has been raised.

As a result, Captain Nguyen Vo Hoang has directed troops to well implement entry-exit activities; handled 832 thousand tons of export and import goods, worth more than USD 1 billion and VND 1,196 billion. Meanwhile, he also ordered border troops to effectively take full use of equipment when managing border gate.

Thanks to his wholeheartedness, over the past time, Hoang has quickly addressed procedures in the region as regulated, leaving good impression on functional forces when working at border gates,.

Hoang was born and grew up in Vinh Chau B, Tan Hung district, Long An province. As a child, he dreamt of being a border officer. In 2014, Hoang joined the military and worked in the Long An provincial Border Guard Command. With high determination, he passed the entrance exam of the Border Guard Academy a year later, officially becoming a border soldier. In 2019, he graduated from the academy and was assigned to perform tasks at the Border Station of Binh Hiep International Border Gate.

He held that choosing to become a border guard, he was well aware of his career and willing to accomplish all assigned missions. As head of a border station, he also tries his best to raise his competence, grasp situation so as to handle any arising issue at border gates and in border areas.

The Border Post of the Binh Hiep International Border Gate is tasked with managing and protecting the 9.5km-long borderline, including roads and rivers passing the two communes of Binh Hiep, Binh Tan in Kien Tuong town and bordering Th’May commune, Kungpungro district, Svay Rieng province, Cambodia. This is a large area with many criminal activities, especially smuggling and trade fraud.

Thus, since being assigned to the border post, Captain Nguyen Vo Hoang has actively and pro-actively raised his competence by himself. Notably, he has paid due attention to learning from his senior colleagues. At the same time, he has studied documents and then exchanged information with his peers at the border post in order to thoroughly grasp local situations, and conduct field trips to disseminate laws to local residents.

As the chief of the border post’s management station, Hoang always heightens his sense of responsibility towards task performance. He leads his troops to seriously manage the shared borderline of peace, stability and prosperity.

Especially, on September 21, 2023, he directly headed a mission to successfully arrest two suspects who were in the wanted list of the Public Security Ministry. Meanwhile, he took part in activities with functional agencies to learn about local situations to make timely proposals to local authorities.

These task performance results made by Hoang have contributed to his unit’s achievements in fulfilling political missions and firmly safeguarding the national sovereignty and security along the shared borderline.
